sound modem

Probably this has been brought up before. But I have Ubuntu 7.1 in a
dual boot configuration. I see from the posts that this can be used as
a packet TNC. I went to the synaptic package manager and apparently I
have installed it. The sound Modem line has a green square in front of
it. The problem is I don't know how to start or use it. I opened a
terminal and typed in "soundmodem" It says "error parsing config file
/etc/ax25/soundmodem.conf Please run soundmodemconfig" dave@0ne:~$
soundmodemconfig
delete event
One problem is I went to the file system and opened the etc folder.
There is no AX25 folder inside of it.

What does this mean?
