On a dual-boot system something appears to have gone wrong (keyword"NX") with the CPU. Windows XP suffered to death, but Ubuntu Studioseems not affected at all.
Were you able to copy the stuff you need from the WinXP side from Ubuntu? If nottry a Puppy Linux Live CD, or other Live CD.
