How to recover from a messed up update....

Date: Dec 28    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 438

I recently updated to gusty from fiesty using the update link.
That is the end of the story of my love life with ubuntu.

Ubuntu won't boot up. I cut a gusty ISO and tried to recover.
It will go to the ubuntu splash screen and stops.

Is there any way to recover using codes at the terminal?
Or is there any way at all to recover, without re-installing?

When it starts to boot up and you get to select with the arrow keys what mode to
start off with. It should say recovery mode or safe mode. Either one of those
should get you going. Pay attention to when it boot up. It will go like starting
and say pass or fail. If you get a fail. That is the problem.

Is there any way to fix the fail.
When I started on the recovery mod, it goes on for hours coming with numbers
with description, after about 8 hours, it stuck, then it simply sit there.
I happend without me doping anything, except the update?

Is the recovery mode getting stuck? Are you getting a kernel panic error code.
If you get kernel panic. it is hosed and have to do a fresh install. HMMMM I
would go to Ubuntu formums on this one. I can do alot, but there is people who
know a lot more than me.
