KDE upgrade

Date: Dec 21    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 369

I am currently using KDE 3.5.9 and wish to upgrade to KDE 4.0
After looking at docs on the web, I am totally dismayed as to the
amount of stuff involved. Is there an "easy" way to do this?
I have NO clue as to what packages I need,etc..All I want to do is
basically change the way the desktop looks,etc..

If you are useing kubuntu 8.4 it has some of i already in it. If you are useing
ubuntu 8.04 You can instll kubutu_desktop and kde4 from synaptic. Then when you
log in you can choose from the three desktop and run your choicre. If you just
have kubuntu add kde4 the same way.

I didn't even know the Synaptic Package Manager
existed. Used Adept before.

It's truly awesome. Last time I dabbled with Linux was years ago--tried
RedHat and Mandrake.
Been a Windows/DOS user for YEARS. Discovered Ubuntu, installed it a
couple of weeks ago, have NEVER looked back at Windows since. As a matter
of fact, wiped the hard drive and installed Ubuntu exclusively!
