Home server

Well, me, I'm planning to build a home server for:

- Authenticate users (Wired and Wireless LAN + Internet)
- Torrenting
- LAMP
- Printing
- Storage ( the PC itself + USB Seagate SmartAgent 1.5 TB)
- TV capturing for sharing through Wired Wireless LAN

I found this machine as a good deal:

- CPU Core 2 Duo E7200
- Clock: 2066 GHz
- Cache: 3MB L2 Shared
- RAM: 2GB DDRII-667MHZ
- Fax Modem: PCI 56K
- HD: 500GB SATA II
- Drives: DVD/RW
- LAN: On Board 10/100
- Keyb + optical mouse
- OS: Linux (?)

I have a display to set it up, but after installing the OS, I'll not need it
anymore so I do not see why buy another display.

So... can the machine do the job flawless?

There will always be a need to log into your server whether it operates
flawlessly or not. Be sure to install ssh and openssh-server. I don't
know if you plan on running a GUI or not, but install FreeNX Server if
you do.
