Excel 2003 - where can I find a cell fill color picker?

Asked By: Leon    Date: Dec 11    Category: MS Office    Views: 1513

I want a broader range of colors to choose from for my cell fill
color. I was thinking of writing a color picker in VBA. But then I
thought someone must have done this before.

Does anyone know of a free color picker for Excel?

Check out this color  picker from John Walkenbach's site:

It won't make any difference, Excel will map the colorindex to the
closest in the colour palette, so you are restricted to the built-in 56.

The problem I have had with the color-picker that was given in this
thread below (although it works fine) is that it's hard to see how each
color works on each computer . . . for example, on the laptop we have,
the colors are much darker, so I can't tell which ones will work . . .
so I wrote this subroutine that I can send to others I work with, so
they can select the colors. This is a great group, so I hope this is
as helpful to someone as the rest of you have been. This sub is rather
crude, but it works . .
