Dual Booting

Date: Jan 23    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 405

I do not have a problem specifically relating to Ubuntu, but I am sure
some of you here know more about creating a boot selection menu than I
can find on some of my Windows forums.

Basically, I shrunk the C partition on a Windows 7 installation,
created a new partition, and installed Windows XP in it. I have not
been able to develop a suitable BCD menu by using EasyBCD giving me the
option to boot either into the win7 partition or the XP one. In fact,
now I cannot get back to the Win7 installation no matter what I do.

Can someone here help me in this matter please?

Does the old fdisk /mbr from a dos prompt not get win7 going again? You will
likely need to run the Win7 repair option from the recovery cd/partition as
the partition you shrunk may now have been flagged as dirty (unless you
resized it from the Windows recovery partition menu). If there are no other
suggestions, you may want to consider giving supergrub a try...
