cannot connect to internet through LAN card

Date: Dec 27    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 375

I was very excited that I could run a dual boot of Windows and Ubuntu
8.04 until I tried to get on the internet under Ubuntu and could not
do so. It has found my LAN card (Intel PRO/100 VE Network
Connection), but no matter what I try, it will not connect. I have
used Ubuntu 6.06 and 7.10 and had no problem connecting, as a matter
of fact all I had to do was start up Ubuntu and there was my
connection. I thought maybe I had made a mistake on the install, so I
tried running the live CD, again, the system found my card, but it
would not connect. When I pulled up the information about the DNS
servers, etc...under the connections everything was 0's. If anyone
can help me fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.
