You can change it in several ways.
You can run in safe mode and get in that way go into user mode and type in
$>sudo passwd root

Go to Applications>Accessories>Terminal and open up the terminal
$>sudo passwd root

System>Admin>Users and Groups>
Select user and then go to Properties select the account tab and change it
there.
