Browser crash

Date: Feb 05    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 367

Ever since I got this computer loaded with Ubuntu, the browser (Firefox) crashes
roughly once a day. Last night, I had about 4 tabs open and this morning it
crashed and did not get any prompts for restoring the last session. I have 1 GB
of RAM and with a 1.8 processor. Are there some things I can do about this?

Firefox didn't crash on my similar specs Ubuntu machine. However, I switched to
Google's Chrome and haven't looked back. Works extremely well. Absolutely no
problems.

Which version of Firefox? I've been having stability problems with FF5,
similar to those you mention, but FF4 was rock solid.

I use the add-on Session manager with the tabs option checked. Today, I just got
a FF update, so we'll see how it goes.

have you try making the swap space larger. That work for me. I have 8GB and
my swap space is 3 times memory.
If you have 1GB, then I would go with 5 or 6 times memory.
