I have used several HP multi-function printers without any problems. I just
recently used a Canon without problems too.

Another good choice would be Epson Stylus Photo PX650 with 6 individual ink
cartridges.

I have the HP Officejet 4500 Wireless All-in-One Printer and love it. Usually
$100.00 at Sam's & Costco. There's a non-wireless version of the same unit for
about $30.00 less.

I chose the wireless version as we have 4 computers in our house including 1
Ubuntu Linux PC.

I figured that $25.00 per machine for this many functions was great. Here's some
info:

I have a Kodak All-In-One. While the "ink" is less expensive it IS just ink.
The print head is separate. When it goes bad, well the printer is not worth
the cost of a new print head. A friend of mine had one, when the printhead
went bad he replaced the whole printer with an HP.

Another thing, as far as I know the Kodak printers do NOT work with Linux.
They work with Windoze and Apples but not Linux. When I print I have to drop
to Windoze.

In the past I have had good luck with HP. The next printer I buy, I'll try
to get one with separate ink cartridges.

Does the Canon laser printer work ?
What about Xerox ?
Is it true that even Windows XP has drivers for Xerox ?
What about Lexmark ?
