I have been looking at the number of people who are having troubles and
those who are not with this new upgrade. I have a very general vanilla
computer so one would think it would run fine with 8.04 but, my older,
salvaged Dell laptop is more stable OS wise.

FF was unstable from the minute I turned it on. Since all the updates in
recent weeks it has become better though. But at this point in time Im
fully invested into Opera so, when I upgrade to the next release, Ill
see about moving back.
