WiFi Dial-Up

I'm stuck on dial up here. It's all that's available short of
satellite. The thing is, I'd like to not be tethered to one spot with
the lap top.Is there hardware available that'd let me take the lap top
out to the patio like other people?

Just get a linksys wireless router and you are set.
When you are out on the patio you can surf to your dial up connection.

dial up is very slow and may not give the speed for a wireless
connection.

This is true. And because of the time between the computer making a call
to a site, the transmission time to the router, through dialup and then
the return trip, using dial-up with wireless may actually be even slower
than a direct dail-up connection. But it can and is done.

If your dial-up isnt a solid 50 connection, meaning if you are only
getting dial up speeds of 30 to 45, then I wouldnt try it. The one I did
last week was a good dial up connection and was getting 50 every time.
