Weird error

Date: Dec 26    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 330

All of a sudden, on logging in, I am getting an error saying that
"User's $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored" plus a load of other stuff
which I can't remember but which basically say that any changes I make
to my desktop configuration will not be saved and that the file must be
owned by me and have 644 permissions.

Well, I've checked the file and, surprise, surprise! It's owned by me
and has 644 permissions.

So, why am I getting this error? What can I do to get rid of it?

I have had same problem. The problem is in the dmrc conf. file. Go to home dmrc
and check the permission. Make yourself owner
with read and write. Leave groups and others with no permissions.I dont know
why this works but it does.

I'll give it try and let you know how it goes when I reboot (which may
not be for a couple of days).
