uninstall Ubuntu 9.04 problems

Date: Dec 11    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 366

I installed 9.04 as a dual boot from the LiveCD and had to uninstall it because
of HDD space. Now when I boot up I still get the option between XP and Ubuntu.
This was fine for a few days but now I am getting BSOD stop errors in WinXP
I did some research and the error is "unexpected kernel mode trap". I feel this
is related to my Ubuntu trial but not sure where to start with troubleshooting.
Already ran complete virus scan and did a memory check with the live CD.
I feel like maybe I did not uninstall correctly. I did the Ubuntu uninstall by
going to Add/Remove programs in WinXP. And removing the program. At this point I
just want this machine back where I started as XP only. I have KDE, Mint, Ubuntu
on other machines so no offense to anyone here :)
This is my audio recording machine with Win Cubase for now and I just want to
get back to writing !

I am a new user but I saw a couple weeks ago that you should not use
"Add/Remove programs in WinXP". Wubi has an option to "uninstall".

Do some searches at this URL:

Using your XP disk rewrite the Windows bootloader (fixmbr) and it will
replace Grub. As far as Windows is concerned there will be no evidence of
another OS because it cannot read ext3/4 drives anyway and grub will be
gone. If you still get BSODs then you can only blame Microsoft.
