A couple of years ago I ran Ubuntu & Windows XP in dual boot
configuration on an old Toshiba Satellite. It taught me that I still
needed to keep XP for some essential services, but whenever possible I
wanted to run Ubuntu.
I am working with a new computer. The first thing I did was to remove
VISTA and install Ubuntu 9.04:
Acer Aspire 7530G
AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70 4.00GB
32-bit.
The only additional thing I have done so far is to install DigiKam.
I have not locked up my new computer since avoiding using F-Spot several
days ago.....
My strategy is to do as much as I can with this system and computer,
relying on an old laptop with Windows XP for things that I can't do with
Ubuntu, like some video, banking, etc.
