I have decided to got to Linux solely. I am currently dual booting
with winblows. Questions:

1) how can I remvoe the windows partition without screwing up anything
else.
2) HOw can I change the grub loader to go straght to Ubuntu?
Currently on start-up I have 4 linux options and a windows option.

Will I have to reinstall everything? If so can I used remaster to
make a copy and "mount " it in a seperate driver to rein\stall from?

I'm a Ubuntu newbie so I can't answer your questios, but I just
wanted to say congrat's. I went completely Ubuntu about a month ago
and I've been real happy I did. I just backed up my hard drive and
wiped it and then re-partitioned and then re-installed Ubuntu. I
haven't missed anyhting in Windows.

Make a backup copy of the file /boot/grub/menu.lst
There's info in it that will be useful later.

Then edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst file removing the OS choices you
don't want so the last part of the file looks something like this
(noting Yahoo removes spaces so the formatting is messed up); also
note the "timout" value; 5 seconds (instead of 20) would be good
to boot directly into Ubuntu. When you get that working, then ask
how to blow-away Windows and use its partition for file storage.

## timeout sec
# Set a timeout, in SEC seconds, before automatically booting the
