Is there a program that can be used/ installed with ubuntu that willconvert text from a scan? I think it is called OCR?
I am looking at precisely this at the moment. The ones I have found so far seemto need windows. Windows eye by humanware looks great. and magnetictime.com. Canthis run on ubuntu? Are they any good?
Just search for OCR on Synaptic and you will find several - Kooka, Clara andOCRad. Can't say I've used them but I just installed and tested them andthey do run. It will take a bit of patience to be able to use them withouttears!
Another Windows program which you cold try under Ubuntu would be PaperPort,I love that program!
