.net / classic asp cookie compatibility

I have a site that has both classic asp and .net asp. When I set a
cookie with classic asp and then retrieve that value with .net, it
works fine. However, when I attempt to update that value, .net
creates a new cookie with the exact same value. Is this a .NET bug? I
know it is doing this because I have enabled tracing in .NET and can
see the new cookie.
