mythbuntu and mobile broadband

Date: Feb 06    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 428

I now have Virgin Mobile mobile broadband, using a Novatel Ovation MC
760 adapter. One slight problem, though--although I have the correct linux
drivers installed, and the "lsusb" command indicates that the system recognizes
the adapter, I can't seem to find any packages on the mythbuntu side of my
system that would enable me to set the adapter up to run under mythbuntu! Do I
need to repair my system from a CD, or what?

Problem solved, folks! I found a small icon in the upper right-hand corner of
my screen that I hadn't noticed before. I clicked on it, and a menu appeared
that had all the necessary info and commands I needed to get my mobile adapter
working with mythbuntu just splendidly! The only problem was that I downloaded
so many updates and upgrades that mythbuntu got messed up, and now I'm gonna
have to reinstall mythbuntu from scratch! Oh, well, live and learn . . .
