I just moved fully to Ubuntu. I understnad Gaim is not Pidin? But Ican still install Gaim. Is there a problem with doing this?
There shouldn't be. They both serve the same purpose.
you can install Gaimwithout problems, but I would advise goingwith Pidgin, as it is (as they claim) a bug-fixand improvement on Gaim.
I looked in synaptic and Gaim is all that is available.did you say you use Gaim. Or did you move to Pidgin as well?
