Ubuntu install cd

Date: Dec 21    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 423

I tried twice to download the iso of Ubuntu 8.04 from different places.
And twice if i run md5sum i get another hashtable. And of course i
cannot install Ubuntu or look at the live cd.
And it doesn't run Check CD for defects. It loads until the first black
page with options but that's the end.
I tried ide and sata2 but that makes no difference.
Is my Atapi cdrom Sony dvd rw dw-g121a not supported?
And should i use the md5sum from Linux and give other md5sum.exe from
different os's different results? Until now i don't have Linux on my
computer.

I had same problem with live cd that I got through shipit.Nothing I did could
make it load. i HAVE A samsung.I down loaded the alternant cd and burned it real
slow and it works like a champ. It does not have the live cd function but has a
restore feature that you can fix your system without losing any data.

See this guide: www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm

If you are having problems with the download try using a download manager such
as Free Download Manager or use bittorrent.

There is a check box near the bottom for the alternate CD. You can also click on
the tab for a free CD mailed to you. They even pay the shipping. It takes
longer, but it is a sure thing.
