I am unable to "activate" hyperlinks (if activate is the correct word).
Clicking on Hyperlinks in my program doesn't open up the link. Whether
I'm in an e-mail letter which has a URL or I'm in a list with some
hyperlink, pressing on the hyperlink doesn't do a thing. It doesn't even
open my browser! The only way I can get the hyperlink to go to a site
written is to copy/paste the URL after opening my browser. I tried
holding the control key while clicking the hyperlink but got nothing.
More info:
I'm using gutsy gibon with Firefox as my default browser and Thunderbird
as my e-mail program. Both are defined as such in system
settings/default applications. As I said it isn't only URL hyperlinks
that don't work. For example I have a spreadsheet with contacts. I used
to be able to click a particular e-mail address in the spreadsheet and a
"write" page would open in Thunderbird. Now - nada! When placing the
mouse above any particular address it says the this is a "mailto:" cell
but nothing happens when clicking.
The only hyperlinks that are working are those within ANY site on
Firefox. Once on the internet all hyperlinks work within my browser.
