i am new to jdbc...
i tried to connect to oraclepersonal edition ...
DriverManager.getConnection
("jdbc:oracle:thin:@server:#port:dbname","scott","tiger");

can anyone help me in understanding what
1.server
2.port
3.dbname
stands for...

then how do i configure a data source for the driver

"oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
i tried to configure ..it gave class not found exception...

plz help me in configuring the data source...
will i have to download any drivers for this purpose...
