How do I go about finding stuff once it is installed?

I am new to Ubuntu and Linux in general. I just installed some
software, (a bbs package). It installed it into the /ele folder.
However, I cannot FIND this folder!! How do I go about finding stuff
once it is installed?

Some programs are non GUI or in your applications listing. If you know the name
of the program. Open up your terminal and type in the name of the program in all
lower case. Most of the programs you install can be found in usr folder or etc.
You all ways can do a search in the name of the program you installed. It will
tell you where that program went to.

I have run a BBS since the late 80's. Switched to a telnetable one about
5 years ago. Never ran one under Linux though. Gonna be a BIG learning
curve.
