Flashing video

Can anyone tell me where to fix a viedo problem in ubuntu? ill be in
the broser and fire fox flashes and its not from the hard ware. the
viedo card is a nvidia x1600 with 512 ram on it thanks for any input

Ubuntu does not have a video problem. I can run any video file in Ubuntu. If you
can't then you may have to install missing codecs or applications. Unlike some
Linux distros Ubuntu in recognition of copyright restrictions does not include
restricted drivers and non-
foss software. Some distros don't care and install copyrighted and restricted
drivers and multimedia codecs by default. Depending on your own ethics regarding
this, you can choose to install or not install. In Ubuntu you must change
Synaptic's settings to allow restricted repositories.

Please open up Firefox in the terminal. You can do this by typing in firefox in
all lower case. Do not close the terminal window. This is important. Use the
browser as you like to do. If it crashes. The terminal may give you an error
code on what the problem is. When that happens. Do a search on on Google on the
error code.
