Some time ago I wrote against e17. Today i installed it according to these

10/01/14 I also have e16 installed but it is too troublesome for me to use it; I
would prefer IceWM or FVWM-Crystal instead of e16.
I was surprised e17 offered a complete desktop environment with desktop icons
(I am ashamed of the fact that I prefer to have desktop icons) and it is fast,
moves very well and it is quite easy to use. So far it seems to be very good.
The formwer e17 that I used under OpenGEU Luna Crescente was not even close to
this one. However, I will still use Gnome with Compiz sometimes.
