Copying data from Excel to MS Word

Asked By: Frankie    Date: Jan 11    Category: MS Office    Views: 955

I have numerous single-sheet Excel files (all of which are the same
format), from which I need to copy the data into a MS Word Template
alugning specific cells in the spreadsheet to specific fields in the
Word document.
Can anyone help ?

You have 2 ways to go about it. Either in excel  or in Word. Either way you
will need references checked for both excel and word.
The macro will need to be in a separate workbook, not one of the ones to be
extracted from
Presumably you have bookmarks in the word  doc?

It is then just a question of
Open the excel workbook
Open the new word doc
step through the bookmarks in the doc
copy the content of the relevant excel cell
paste to the relevant bookmark
save the doc
close the workbook
Go on to the next workbook

Thanks for your help. It's got me started but....
Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be transferred
from Excel to Word ? I am using the DDEPoke method to do the transfer.

I do not know if there is a character count limit. It seems
unlikely..

My experience says it's an experiment job... Having said that.. I'd look at
either 255 or 65k.
