boot/grub menu

I was having trouble with Windows and I installed Ubuntu on my laptop.
Unfortunately I re-installed windows after Ubuntu and now I don't have the
option of viewing the boot menu to select Ubuntu. I am was using the dual boot
mode. Is there a way to view the boot menu in Windows XP that will allow me to
select Unbuntu again?

I don't think you can do anything from within Windows as it is carefully
designed to completely and irrevocably remove anything like Grub. There are
ways to reinstall Grub, probably from within Ubuntu started from a live CD
but I'm not knowledgeable enough to help you further.

You need to have saved the MBR from before you re-installed Windows.
There are ways to save a copy from a live CD and something to save it
on. I do it all the time.

You can use "super grub" disk. Download the file and make start up disk.

Windows has its own boot loader and it will overwrite the Linux one. Unlike
Linux, Windows does not like to share and will not detect Linux as an OS and
give it a boot option in its boot loader.

To fix your problem you need to use the Live Ubuntu CD to boot from and then
rewrite grub following these instructions:
