Applications crash after todays update...

Date: Jan 02    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 368

I want to see if anyone is experiencing what I am. I did a fairly large
update this morning. It directly affected firefox. Since then though I
have had firefox and oo apps crashing again and again.

For example, while filing in a form online when I hit the submit button
the browser just closes. Or in Writer, if I try to save the app turns
black and then immediately turns off.

I had the same update, something like 42 updated files, if I remember
correctly, including the newest version of Firefox. I haven't had any
problems since the update, though.

I would check to see if there is any broken packages, I ave no problems.

I was reluctant to try the update but I did. Everything works. Since it
touched Gnome, I rebooted to be sure all updated stuff would be correctly
reloaded in memory. I have absolutely no problem since.

May be something in OO is broken in your system. You could try to reinstall or
fix any broken packages ???

I re.installed and updated 218 files and Gutsy and had no problems with
any of it.

The problem might be caused by a firefox plugin. I would remove the plugins
one by one, to see if the problem disappears.
