Of course you know I'd already checked out the most obvious before
asking the question.

OK one step at a time

All questions pertain to the PhenomII and that just may be where the
trouble lies to begin with.

Vbox #1 is working perfectly except the printer just doesn't work
properly- possibly drivers in the host OS will check that out
further, the dual core does have lots of drivers for the printer
that are not present in the phenomII All USB devices present and
accounted for and working except of course for the printer.

Vbox#2 is working sort of. It does connect to the Internet, but
there is no sound ! I get error messages about no device being
installed. Have tried all possible options changing one setting at a
time. None of them gives me sound, but the sound works perfectly on
Vbox#1 This alone makes it virtually unuseable. All USB devices
are visable but none are useable ?? even tho the boxes are checked
and enabled.

Yes, everything works properly on the host machine with possible
exception of printer- It works but not quite the way I expect it
to. First stop is get those drivers.
