Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Dec 27

I am going to guess that he means, that Windows usually requires
re-installation first. I find that as much testing and playing as I
do with my system, that Windows gets garbaged up to the point where
about once a year or so re-installation is the only thing that will
get performance back.

For me, in a dual boot set-up, installing Windows ahead of the other
operating system seems to be a much happier existance.

Annymore, I keep one of my old 40 gig drives around with a fresh
install of Windows. Rather than go through the re-intall hassle, I
image it over onto my work drive, and then expand the partition. Let
it up date and we are back in business.

I've had more than one person tell me that, such antics are never
necessary, that it is the user who has goofed things up. But I've not
had one of them able to drop by and be able to get the performance a
fresh install will get you. After owning and using Micrsoft operating
system based computers since 1984, this is the easiest method I've
found to keep the speed up in my systems.

If i never changed out software, it might be a different story. But I
play with different utilities and software on a regular basis.

I don't think Microsoft is evil, nor do I defend them. They are what
they are, and they remind me of my neighbors dog. If you go in his
yard, he sees it as his territory, and he will bite you. Same goes
for Microsoft.

Now and then he gets confused and and thinks my yard is his yard, and
I have to run him off while trying not to get bit. Same goes for
Microsoft.
