ubuntu power management

  Date: Dec 31    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 591

I am having Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.1 clients in my office.
I have enabled power saving mode in them using .
system --> preferences -->Power management
Settings for the systems are such that it will go in sleep mode after 10 min if
it is idle.

But if some process is going on the system, still it goes into sleep mode
without finish it after 10 min.

I want the setting in such a way that first it should finish the process and
after 10 min it should go in to sleep mode.

grab kpowersave and use that instead of the default gnome
powermanagment.

you can edit lists of programs that trump the sleep mode.

I see no point in having power connected machines suspend that quickly
though.
