Object library invalid or contains references to object def

Asked By: Dai    Date: Aug 15    Category: MS Office    Views: 1229

this is the error I'm getting.
"OBJECT LIBRARY INVALID OR CONTAINS REFERENCES TO OBJECT DEFINITIONS
THAT COULD NOT BE FOUND"

I was editing my VBA application and then I tried to run it by
clicking a button. The button didn't do the commands that it was
supposed to do so I debugged it. All of a sudden this message popped
up. I wasn't doing anything to the references or anything. I was just
adding a button and was adding a code to it.

I can't use my program. Two months of polishing my VBA program has
come to naught because I thought nothing would go wrong with my excel
application and didn't make a backup. I can't edit it in anyway nor
copy the code because the message box gets in the way and when I ok
it the code disappears. The help option doesn't display anything.

I looked online and I found exactly two postings of the same problem,
and no solutions were able to be given.

I am using Excel 2002, on a Windows 2000. I have recently updated my
system with microsoft update.

For the life of me I don't know how I can fix it. Does anyone of you?

I already found  a solution, at least if someone encounters it again
they can look up this site. In the VBA editor I just clicked View and
picked the Project Explorer option. Then I clicked Sheet1 and voila
my code  appeared. I had an old backup  which had almost the same
objects but had a different code. I pasted my recent code to the
backup and then voila my previous code was working again.
