help about Java Communication API ?

i want to ask about Java Communication API

because there has not been any development on it since
1996~7... what is the mater

can i write programs that control hardware in Java
with Java Comm API...

I worked on Java communications API, but using C family is more feasible then
Java coz of its decelerate behaviour. And you may not get any good online
support for Java communication  API`s also. And more over using C family you can
put stretch on the coding.
