user privledges

How do I set up a user without a password? The wife and I are separate
users.I don't mind typing in a password but she doesn't want to.
We're running 7.10

If you are set up as the root user. It is very simple.

System-->Administration-->Login Window
Security-->Enable Automatic Login

okay, I'm not the root user, apparently. Can't be done otherwise?

No one is root till you log in as root.

The account you want to make as the auto logon does not actually need
to be the root user. You just need the account with the root user
access to make the change.
