Update WAS running out of memory

Date: Jan 08    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 328

after moving /home to a new spot on disk to increase its size (from a Wubi
install), the error message I get now is "The volume 'Filesystem root' has only
619.9 MB disk size remaining.'"

Now, isn't that where /home used to be, inside that volume? And since /home
isn't in there anymore, I wouldn't ordinarily be adding more to this volume and
shouldn't have to be concerned about this, right? I made /home 24800.

I have never been convinced that WUBI is worth trying,
I read somewhere that it cant share data with windows,
dual boot seems so much simpler.

You will have a folder called /home.backup in the root file system and
that contains the data originally in /home that you've now got in your
newly created partition.

If the data in the new /home is OK - i.e. it's all been copied - then
you can delete the /home.backup folder and regain the space in the
root partition, that should stop the errors about lack of space
