I've added shred command to nautilus, however it doesnt give you the option of
geeting you ton cofirm you want to shred the selected file, and the command is
right next to the properties option on the selection so one miss click and
you'll accidently destroy something you just wanted the properties for, does
anyone here know how to get around this problem?

I don't know any arguments for whether "wipe" is as good as, better, or
worse than "shred". However, "wipe" will prompt for confirmation by default
according to what I have read. However, the man page for wipe seems awfully
wishy washy about how reliable the program might be for single file
removal. And the man page for shred also indicates it is not reliable for
journaling filesystems. My thought is to just keep shred as a CLI option.
