Difference between .aspx file and .aspx.vb file

I am kind of confused about the differences between my regular .aspx files and the .aspx.vb files. I have just moved over to Visual Studio from MX and in MX all my VB was just put in the <script> tag. Should I be moving all the existing VB code between my Script tags and place it in the aspx.vb file?
