I am new (5 days) to Ubuntu, have been a Windose users for far too long.

I would appreciate some help please.

When I was using Wondows, I also used to run DivX2DVD to convert DivX
and AVI files to TS_Video files.

What program should I use now please.

I have learnt alot over the past 5 days and am thoroughly enjoying it.
It does take a little getting used to but hopefully, when I have
mastered a little more then I shall put Ubuntu on my other PC's, but I
do need your help.

Well I'm performing the same task and have found this page useful so far.
www.linuxquestions.org/.../AVI_to_D\
VD

I know it's command line stuff but make sure you have the right
packages installed and copy the relevant lines into your terminal and
replace the file names for what you have.

Okay well I've been delving around a wee bit more and found this
freshmeat.net/.../
You'll need to enable the extra repo's in your package manager and
search for DeVeDe.

I think it's better you install wine and install this DivX2DVD, cause I've never
found a program good and simple to do that.
In my case, I just bought a DVD who plays DivX files,
