I run into problems with permissions all the time. It's a Linux thing. Secure
and all that you know. Guess it's a good thing.

Try this, open a terminal and type " sudo nautilus " ( of course without the
quotation marks
) That will open a file browser that lets you do things as root. Things like
going to properties and changing the permissions.
