Port 38340 - blocked connections by FireStarter

Date: Dec 04    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 474

What is port 38340? I tried googling this port no. but unable to get a
definitive and clear description.

While upgrading to 9.10, Firestarter had blocked UDP connections from
different source IP addresses (coming from WA, NJ, and even Japan using
whois).

From Firestarter homepage, events in black color are connections
attempts to random ports that are harmless. But why are these connection
attempts being done?
