How to play two or more sounds at the same time?

I have a Ubuntu Feisty installed in my Fujitsu Siemmens Amilo D1840 and I
use Festival TTS with Gnome-orca screenReader.
I can not listen the system sounds or the mp3 player when Festival is
talking.
How can I configure the system sound to play several sounds at the same
time?
