OpenOffice and MS Access 2000

Is there a newer version of Ubuntu which can recognized MS Access 2000
dbase files? Not a real big deal, I can always format the database
into an earlier Access file, but I wonder has Ubuntu played catch-up
for newer versions of MS Access (database software)?

Ubuntu never has read any MS Office file! Open Office, however, may
well read your MS Access 2000 file. Have you tried researching the
supported file formats at www.openoffice.org?

It is not Ubuntu, It is Open Office. You may want to check open office web site.
