java on linux vs. windows

I have developed for a couple years in Java on Windows but not on
Linux. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are any
tricky/significant differences with developing on Linux instead of
windows. What IDE/editor do professionals prefer to use on LInux to
develope in Java? What about debugging capabilities? Any info on
Java development on linux would be helpful (links perhaps too).
