Excel User Functions

Does anyone know how/why a User defined function in one file is
accessed by other Excel files open ?

I have a cell color defined function in a Module in one Excel file and
everytime I change a cell in another file, it activates the user
function.

off hand i would say that the UDF is in the personal workbook so it is
available to any open  workbook.
