Apache / Apache2 problems

Date: Jan 02    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 544

I installed both apache and apache2 )which was probably my mistake). The
server will not start on boot, if I tried manually starting via the startup
script in /etc/rc2.d/S91apache2 which did not start the server or give any
clues.

Should I uninstall apache ( I want to run apache2 ) ? If I start manually
with 'apache2' it starts and runs fine.

What did I do wrong, or what am I missing?

Yes, you should uninstall apache to run apache2 if you need to run 2
servers apache2 can run both. The only other thing would be to make
sure apache and apache2 are running on different ports.

Why did you install both?
