ALSA problems

I m trying to get the sound working om my linux box.
I tries OSS but it never worked pst the "soundtest".

Results of aadebug were as follows:

Would somebody please tell me how to get my sound
working?

Here is what you do. Go into your BIOS and disable on board sound devices and
save settings. Plug your head phones or speakers in your SB card. Reboot. Go
and double click on the speaker icon. Click the play back tab and find the
slider for Analog Front. Turn it up and play a Mp3 file for test speaker. See if
that works.

Thanks, I will give it a whirl Tuesdy night. I am out of town for a

Not sure if this will help, but it worked for me.

Click on the little speaker in the taskbar. Bring up the panel. Go
into preferences and turn on surround sound. Unmute it and turn up
volume.

This worked on my Acer laptop, anyways.
