Will Feisty Fawn allow access to Windows NTFS files or
will I need to get a NTFS driver? Thanks for your
help.

I am running fiesty and have it networked to a machine running XP I can
see the drive on the XP machine and access the files. My problem is the XP unit
is the print server and I can not print from fiesty to the XP machine. Got any
ideas?

If you can see the drive on a remote XP computer, you might have Samba
installed. You definitely have it installed if you can also browse the Feisty
computer from XP.

In addition to that, you need CUPS installed on the Feisty computer, and the
printers are configured there.

It seems to me, though, that if you use GNOME, you might be able to install a
printer without these prerequisites using Administration -> Printers. You might
try that first.

The easy way is to install ntfs-config (in Ubuntu universe repository).

Here's a link to a guide that explains how to mount NTFS partitions in
Ubuntu 7.04:

Need to know what printer and if you downloaded a Linux driver for it?

problem may also rest with the server. permissions not being set for
the linux box or the settings randomly messing up as they seem to do on
windows print servers for me.

other thing is you may need to be signed on to the win box.
