In your excel  file 2 select cell  you want the data to display in.
Select the + sign and then go to file  1 select the cell A1 and hit
enter. That data will now show up in the Excel file 2

You can do this manually.
Have the two files  open and put "=" into a cell... Then go to A1 of the
other sheet and press return.
A reference will be inserted.
